  1. How about snow in Seattle? Does it make driving painful in winter days?

    CoolTrader,

It really doesn't snow much in Seattle area....but the mountains around the area get a lot of snow.

Between Mt. Rainer and Mt. Baker....both volcanos....and not far from Seattle....they have the Highest recorded snow fall in the world. I think Mt. Baker now holds the world record. But in the Seattle area itself....not much.

Years ago....when I was working....they closed down the company one day....because of reports of a winter storm. This was in Seattle. Anyway....we were out on the loading dock....and there was some snow falling....and many people were almost in a panic....we got to get home. Hell....they probably wanted to go skiing. I told them....in Montana....where I am from....they call this "snow flurries". The company closed down for the day....people went home....and the winter storm never came.

I'm in Vegas now but am serioulsy considering a move back east. The rumor is that NYSE will move one half hour this spring and then another one half hour in the fall. Right now I get up around 4:45AM and IT SUCKS! No time to do research etc...There is also talk of extending the close. Places I am considering are Virginia, where I'm from, North Carolina, Texas, and the the Panhandle area of Florida. I would appreciate any comments. BTW, here's a report that might help anyone considering a move.

come to hawaii and surf everyday!!

I have been to tahoe, but nothing beats hawaii in my book.

Hawaii has more climates than every other state.

Something like 13 different climates. Includes desert, tropical, snow (high altitude), tundra, sub tropical, and many more!!!!

Come to hawaii and I show u how to surf!

Any hawaii traders pm me! we should start a once a month traders get together.

  6. If you want to move to Texas or Florida, avoid the hurricane area. Don't forget part of Houston had to be evacuated last year, and the Panhandle area of Florida was hit hard in 2004.

Well Portland/Vancouver is #3 on the singles list and Seattle is at #5. Reno isn't listed and Las Vegas is at #52.

Austin is #1 on the list, but then Texas is a love it or hate it type of state. No state income tax though.
