I don’t do visual trading, but I have IQfeed and IB data, and I trade liquid US equities. The IB last price gets to me 300-500ms faster than IQFeed. It’s pretty accurate, enough that it became the basis for my algo logic. I use IQFeed for research only. I’m 9ms away from IB central gateway, and 30ms away from IQFeed in Nebraska, but none of that matters, considering the measured difference.
I know what you mean. The white color means the last transaction has the same pricelevel as the one before. In other platforms you get the information if the transaction was at the ask or the bid (green ask, red ask). IB shows you if the last transaction had an uptick (green) or down tick (red) but not if the transaction was at the ask or the bid.
Check out https://www.quantower.com/ I've been testing it out recently, the IB connection tends to drop, but looking forward to future updates.
I tryed pinging IB servers from https://www.speedytradingservers.com, its 1ms!! Maybe this will be interesting to you. They have free 7 days demo too.
