There is another advantage to using an exchange native order. System connection loss. It can happen from you to IB, IB to the exchange. Also when things are disorderly, orders being on the exchange are better because of more reliability, imo. Although it is a very rare case, it does happen, with surprising frequency, and when it does, these things matter a lot, imo.
