I'm going to post this in the economics thread as well, but since this had a tad political tinge to it at the end, I thought I'd post a separate piece here.... <object id="cnbcplayer" height="380" width="400" classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" > <param name="type" value="application/x-shockwave-flash"/> <param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"/> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"/> <param name="quality" value="best"/> <param name="scale" value="noscale" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"/> <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"/> <param name="salign" value="lt"/> <param name="movie" value="http://plus.cnbc.com/rssvideosearch/action/player/id/3000117558/code/cnbcplayershare"/> <embed name="cnbcplayer" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" bgcolor="#000000" height="380" width="400" quality="best" wmode="transparent" scale="noscale" salign="lt" src="http://plus.cnbc.com/rssvideosearch/action/player/id/3000117558/code/cnbcplayershare" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" /> </object>
Why the hell can we not get Santelli or someone like him as the fed chairman, Treasury secretary or even POTUS? Some one who actually knows WTF they're talking about. Is it really that hard?
Do you know that Santelli used to be a broker? He failed and now is a reporter... I would be careful suggesting that he actually knows what he's talking about. He's good at being emotional and ranting about stuff he doesn't like, but I doubt these are qualities that would serve a senior public servant well.
Yeah, he would have to put his own interests far out in front of the public interest in order to qualify as a public servant.
I don't know that he was a failed broker. It seems after 20 years in the industry he just moved on as many of us do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Santelli
Link or proof he failed? It's obvious to me he knows infinitely more about economics and credit markets than ANYONE I can think of currently serving in the Obama regime.
