Best real time newsfeed

Discussion in 'Wall St. News' started by Diego10, Mar 17, 2021.

  1. Guys, you get what you pay for. The better the quality and the lower the latency the more the cost of the feed. It's really that simple. Whether someone's approach to trading is suited to specific latencies and the quality of specific news feeds completely depends on the compatibility of the trading approach with the type of news feed. Why do some people always think the output should be different than the expected value as function of the input? That is pure idiocy.

  2. Yes I tried it actually several times, last time about 1.5 years ago. The news is not delayed, correct, but it's a totally crippled feed. Many trading websites disseminate free news feeds that they contracted with Refinitiv and they stream more comprehensive data than what you get at Xenith. It did not appeal to my needs at all. The best feed you can get for retail money is the comprehensive Dow Jones feed imho. It costs around 180 dollars per month but is really worth it. It's better than the entire Bloomberg news feed and Refinitiv's Eikon feed. But that's just my personal opinion. The DJ feed gets you all company specific news, all economic news, specific news on all world commodities, weather, agriculture, and a huge amount of curated and in house analysis that is very well written and edited by knowledgeable journalists. I attach a lot more value to it than for example the bbg feed. I do like the bbg terminal the best but not the news portion.

DJ's newsfeed had already been recommended to me. What I'm seeing is that the Bloomberg newsfeed gets the news from the wires like Business Wire without any latency. Business Wire publishes it at 8:00:00 AM and hits Bloomberg at 8:00:00 AM.
You say that the DJ service is the same?

  6. I used to use TradeTheNews. It was good and fast. I think I paid $450 a month.
