Hi folks, I'm looking for a platform where I can execute mutual fund trades, and also futures trades if possible. Any recommendations on quality and pricing of platforms you use would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt
why trade Mutual funds? Most sector mutual funds have 90 day trade period. For general mutual funds you can find their ETF equivalent and trade them. You can only sell mutual funds at the closing price. Many traders do it in big dollars. The platforms which are good for future trading are not good for MF trading. IB is great for future but will charge you for your MF trades. Better to have two accounts. One for MF and one for future with different brokers,
Scottrade is great for trading mutual funds but no futures available. You'll probably need two accounts unless your trading style can handle high commissions
