I can gaurantee from personal exprience that Costa Rica does not out rank the United states in this catergory.....so it seems the rest of the rankings would also be somewhat wrong or biased....

    Agree...

But, most threads do tend to diverge a bit...
and then fall back in line...

All the more reason for you and interested others
to hang in there and continue to keep it on focus. :)

  4. No kidding, I don't see Americans lined up at Costa Rican hospitals for triple bypasses.

    Gimme a break

That list is so full of crap it makes me think of the totally useless United Nations (useless politicians at the trough at our expense)

The United States is one of the few countries where you can achieve success if you so desire.

If your neighbors life sucks...perhaps he should put away that six pack of beer, drop the remote and get off his fat butt and get or create a job, instead of expecting society to take care of him.

(Or, he can move to Canada...the system is set up there for the lazy slugs of society, unemployment, welfare, healthcare and a pension plan when you are too old to continue doing nothing).

Unfortunately, the working stiffs in Canada pay big time for the slugs.

hope you have asbestos underwear. :)

Only this was the sin of your sister Sodom: arrogance! She and her daughters had plenty of bread and untroubled tranquility: yet she did not support the poor and needy...so I removed them, as you saw.

  6. Moab is GREAT! If you're going to visit there, it would be more enjoyable, but busier, if you go in the early spring or late fall. If you go in the middle of summer it can get quite hot. There is a really cool motel off of Main Street called the Gonzo Inn, each room has its own "theme". Best beer and pizza: Eddie McStiffs. If you ride, you have to do Slickrock trail, a little busy, but there is nothing else like it. Take a drive down the river, great scenery. Volkswagon just rented out a hangar out at the airport and stuffed it with their new SUV. They flew in dealers from around the US so they can test drive it where some of the commercials were filmed.

Is this the same suspect who plunged the knife into his victim in the middle of a department store and stabbed her to death in front of all the onlookers? On what grounds was his 'not guilty' (which is vastly different from 'innocent') plea found?

Interesting how Spain seems to always be among the top rated areas of these places to live, travel, and health (ouch!) lists....

    Who'd 'a figured that?

(At least among us who aren't that worldly - yet!)

Come to think of it, for years now, Sean Connery has extolled the virtues of living on the Spanish coast...

  9. Yep, Spain is incredibly attractive for quality of life. Is there anyone who has lived or lives there now, who can provide the rest of us untraveled folks more insight on the beauty of Spain??
