France: I don't mean it's not well visited. If you watch US media they always put the French down, but their life is much richer than American's but not in a money sense.

i agree, montreal is great and can best be described as a place where anglophiles speak bad french to quebecoises who reply in bad english. never experienced any problems of that sort in montreal.

and you have to love a city where a top-5 "restaurant" is a buffet at an adult club, lol.

and corvus rightly pointed out, QC is an entirely different proposition.

  5. Nana,

    Why is that? Dubai??

I was checking out the Palm Island. Awesome place to live. But not sure if i like to hang around with Arabs. Very narrow minded people.

If you have ever been to the South of

France, then you known what style

    means and what is cultivation.

    Cannes is chic and arrogant...hmmm

    Saint-Tropez, crowded with the most

    beautifull woman.

    And Nice is just nice...

  7. I really enjoyed Montreal, but anywhere cold is out
    of the question for me.

I complain when it hits 65 degrees in san diego :)

I may consider florida one day. I would be effectively far RICHER in flordia :D
But I would miss the mountains and dryness of claifornia.

Virgin I just love the south of france. It's vibrant but don't forget it has a huge italian influence.

We were in Montreal three weeks ago. What a terrific playground that city is. In my opinion it's the most interesting in north america. The food is great. You DON"T want to work there if you don't speak french and the weather is too cold in winter. If a successful trader one could live by one of the small lakes and live like a king. Negative canadian taxes.

  9. While I am no more from Hitler's immediate birth place than Bush is from McVeigh's brith place, I think you might have a point. But I never saw Hitler's point until I had spent several months in America. Which finally brings us back to the topic of this thread: No matter where you move, it will change the way you think and who you are. Maybe we are not emphasizing the right aspects of moving abroad or even to a different region within a country. Who cares about 20% more or less tax if it can cost your soul?

On the other hand, most traders probably don't believe in such a thing as one's soul. Anyone care to start a poll in Chit Chat? I would second it.

  10. You come from and live in a beautiful country Lobster, I spent a little time there but would never say I knew all about it. You know everything about the USA and naturally it is bad. Your country is 1/100 the size of the USA and has probably 1/40 th of the population. Of course it is perfect! It should be!
