Sourced from the Canada Tax Tips website. The tax rate is the MARGINAL rate. Here's an example of how it works (rounding off numbers and brackets) You make $100,000CAD at the end of the year. 0-32,000 @ 25% = 8,000 32,000-64000 @ 33% = 10,560 64,000-100,000 @ 40% = 14,400 Add them all up and you get 8,000 + 10,560 + 14,400 = 32,960. Therefore, if you made $100,000CAD, you will be paying approx. 33% (or $32,960) of your income to taxes.
condorll already mentioned that when it comes to the USA it's a regional issue. We have many states bigger than many countries after all! It's HUGE here, and you cannot describe it with a single brush stroke. I see a lot of people complain about the crime, and healthcare, etc but these are broad strokes. What would it be like for YOU is the real question. For example.... here is reality FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE 1) I live in an area with A LOW CRIME RATE 2) I live in an area with GREAT healthcare 3) I live in an area with great food, variety of restaurants, etc 4) I live in a gorgeous area with incredible year round weather 5) I live in an area with beaches, mountains, deserts, etc 6) I live in an area with good nightlife, and lots of hot babes 7) Great connectivity and technological resources 8) Tons of recreational activities 9) The traffic sux 10) The taxes are high 11) The realestate expensive If I didn't tell you this was the USA would you believe me? peace axeman
