My choice would be a small town in Florida during winter months and Ashville NC or Stowe VT the rest of the year...........
Atlanta offers plenty of activities and nightlife.Homes are very affordable in the suburbs.I'd stick to towns like Roswell,Alpharetta, and Kennesaw. For the most home for your buck,i'd go with Kennesaw.
I have spoken to many people that used to live around Atlanta, and they moved out because they said that crime is skyrocketing and the city is becoming one big ghetto. They all USED to love it and now would never move back.
great fishing and outdoor stuff, the scenery is great, the people are great alot of things really....id love to live in wisc. but id need to get divorced if i wanted to move from san diego
MM, We finally agree on something. Totally overrated in my book. Still, it beats Hartfort, Conn. I have to wonder about a list of best places to live that includes that town. Boston is a great place to be a student, not so great place to live. Expensive, crowded and a bit closed to outsiders. Actually reminds me more of chicago than a smaller version of NYC. Minneapolis is a great place if you can stand the winters. Great women, and lots of outdoor activities. Kind of a san Diego with a winter. Wisconsin is similar. Midwesterners are a bit odd if you're an outsider, but basically good people. Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia is awesome, but a bit rural for some. Carolinas offer a lot, nice lifestyle and scenic variety. Parts of Georgia, away from Atlanta, are similar. Atlanta is too crowded. You might as well live in LA. I love Santa Barbara but California is not very friendly tax-wise.
I won't be happy until I can turn the clock back to 1955. Yeh, I know everything wasn't wonderful, but just having half as many people in this country makes it look like paradise compared to today. m[isanthrope]
