What would you say is the best market for scalping? Futures, Spot Forex, Stocks, Options... etc ? It seems to me that the forex is too random over the short term, since many trades are ones of business necessity, not investment/trading. Any input is appreciated.
ES (futures). massive liquidity, always 1 tic spread. You will be competing with lots of pros however. This is probably the most heavily scalped market there is. I am speaking of true scalping, where you hold for seconds to maybe a few minutes. Given the commish you will be paying, even with big volume, you have to be really good at this to make money.
fixed income or stir futures or options easy. eg bund, bond, gilt, 10 yr, eurodollar etc. less vol, easier to identify true value, liquidity, correlation, spreading opps, etc
This is an old thread, but is "true value" still important for index day traders (outrights) in this age of HFT ?
