What trading instrument has really good (or best) price movements in the US afternoon (after 1:00pm EST)? I have looked at stocks but they seem best starting shortly after opening bell and ending about lunch while Forex seems best over night and into the early parts of the US trading day. Due to work and the need to sleep I can't really be available to trade during these times. Thanks for any input.
OK maybe I should rephrase this. Does anyone here trade anything between the hours of 1:00pm and 8:00pm EST? If so what do you trade and is there enough price movement to actually make some money during this time?
I usually make money in gold and silver but unless you have an edge and also realize there is "big money" pushing the metals around to squeeze the little guy including "spoofing" and "hidden" size you will probably lose money however you might want to experiment in small size using either mini futures contracts or 100 shares - 200 shares in either the ETF's that track the metals and or the major miners good luck
some people like the action in crude oil there is a mini contract and also an ETF I look at them but have found the "big money" better than me there so I do not try to "game" the oil market ( also some hours the spreads are way to wide )
??................the last hour of grains........the "noon balloon" (Central Time) in stocks and bonds have some potential.
Thank you for the suggestions I will look into all of them. I am also going to look at "shifting" my work day to accomodate better trading hours.
