  2. I have to agree..the ER2 is still the most efficient. The exact same automated program running on the ES and the ER2 consistently has the ER2 with better daily returns.

  3. ES did 36 points per contract today and the ER2 did over 40 points.....

Roger Felton has a no cost webinar tomorrow at 3:30 pm CST and I am sure he is going to show and talk about this automated system. He will show how the system that mimics his trades is doing on several markets for comparison.

  4. I tend to agree with Bear Plunger.

Any market where specialists, market makers, and people who pay big money to buy seats on Exchanges is tradeable.

Traders become familiar with a particular market and develop their business around it. If they can't do that they eventually find another line of work.

When a tradeable product no longer attracts a following the price of the seats/admission goes down, volume decreases and traders go elsewhere.

I first started trading soybeans in 1979. Now I trade mostly the YM. I don't have a logical reason why I prefer the YM to let's say Pork Bellies. My hope would be that a good trader could succeed in any market. An unsuccessful trader will fail in any market.

  6. This system is not trading real money I assume? Also all the fills are prob touch fills and what account does it take for comms and slippage?

A sim account usually looks great untill you put it into the real market with real money.

  8. ES is the best if you want to trade size, but it is the most choppy of the stock index futures, since it is popular with delta hedgers.

NQ has little back and fill, and it can move. It trades a lot like the Russell, which I don't trade anymore. The Russell was pure joy to trade, but was starting to see problems with fills in the summer of 2006, so I had to stop trading it.

I also like CL (crude) but be careful around reports. Massive slippage if you are on the wrong side (I just step aside before). If you like NQ or the Russell, you will love trading crude.

I used to trade YM, but stopped because of the unreliability of the CBOT.

I trade trend with NQ, support and resistance with ES. If the stock market seems particularly choppy, I'll just trade crude. If crude is choppy as well, I'll take the rest of the day off.
