I would love to find a $3.15 rate.

NITRO!!! where can I find this?

FYI, This past month has been my most active trading month ever. I have traded about 1900 RT's the past 20 trading days. I MUST lower my costs. If anyone can give me an introduction or the name of a firm I would really appreciate it. My commission bill has consistently been one third to one half of my profits.

The thing is....if I could lower my round turn to the low $3 range, I would probably play a few more signals each day and wind up trading 3 or 4 thousand per month. I really try to only play the standout trades (profit potential at least 2 or 3 ES points) each session in order to keep my costs down, but there are often setups that look good for 1 or 1.5 points that I often skip.

Did someone figure out exactly what the unbundled charges are on IB ?? What do I pay per rt for 1200 YM a month ??

  3. Fees are all-inclusive and the Xpress Platform is free, except for the E-mini data-feed which is $15.00 per month.

If you want to use the REFCO Pro Platform, add .25 cents per side. A great platform by the way. Never freezes, and never goes down, not even on an FOMC announcement day!

  4. What happens if you don't do 50 rt's? (like in dec)

Example for IB´s unbundled fee structure:

Do the first 150 rt (300 contracts) in bonds,

    ZB $2.80 + $0.60 = $3.40 rt (plus NFA fee)

Then do 200 rt (400 contracts) in ES or NQ,

    ES $2.20 + $2.28 = $4.28 rt (plus NFA fee)

Or do 200 rt (400 contracts) in YM

    YM $2.20 + $1.50 = $3.70 rt (plus NFA fee)

Or do another 200 rt (400 contracts) in ZB

    ZB $2.20 + $0.60 = $2.80 rt (plus NFA fee)

NFA fee is $0.06 rt for all the above contracts, except YM ($0.04 rt). Looks good to me. And do not forget to give CME a kick in the ass, unless you want to fill their pockets forever !

1200 or 1500 rt per month for YM:

    First 150 rt (300 contracts) is $2.80 + $1.50 + $0.04 = $4.34 rt

    Next 350 rt (700 contracts) is $2.20 + $1.50 + $0.04 = $3.74 rt

    All the rest is $1.70 + $1.50 + $0.04 = $3.24 rt

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Here again the table I used for IB´s unbundled fees:

Transaction fee per side (for USD products)

    $1.40 (contracts 1 to 300)
    $1.10 (contracts 301 to 1000)
    $0.85 (contracts 1001 to 10000)

1 RT = 2 contracts (as far as I can see)

I calculate by your figures 1200rts would cost $4214-00 if my math is correct.

Then it works out to $3.53/round trip. If so I could live with that. It works out to a saving of $730-00

Even with $500 platform fee for X-trader at 1200-1500 r/t per month they would seem cheaper. I saw $2.15 r/t for bonds and 2.80 for the mini dow. If I am doing the math right for 1200r/t for bonds that would be 2.57 with the platform fee part of the figure, and 3.22 for YM. Less as you spread the platform fee over more trades. Ffastrade was pretty similiar I thought also.

  9. also check out MBTrading they now have NQ/ES $4.5 RT, YM $4 RT. No platform fee, no minimums.

However, they only trade 9:30-16:15 for eminis, and, their platform sucks sooooo bad, you'll pay all the savings back with interest imho.
