  1. Nobody will tell you, because if it gets around, countries will close that door too.

Yeah ? What do you think succesful entrepreneurs talk about when among each others ? The weather ? They might be shy about handing out free lunch but interesting information gets exchanged, especially that tax is one of their main preoccupation.

  3. I reside in Latvia. Here you can make a zillion trades through a limited company, pay zero tax as long as the shares of the company is not from a low tax country (typical tax haven), pay yourself a minimum salary, and take out dividend and pay 10% tax on that. Completely legal. Lots of opportunities, why be so negative? This is new from 2013. I even have it in writing from the tax office as a binding statement. And there are even better and less costly opportunities here.

Sure, it's investing or straight buy and hold. I just need to lower enough my trading results until I figure out the time spent is not worth the alpha and i'll probably be able to deal with the transition.
This is not exactly the most challenging endeaviour a trader ever had to face...

Seriously I'm not so excited about the traders' life, if it stops working i'll be glad to move on (if I have enough assets left for the family to live on though, or to start another decently capitalised venture)

There was a poster here a while ago claiming he's spent years in Malaysia just doing border runs every 3 months, it used to be like this in Thailand as well, but not quite so easy anymore.
It should be easy to spend years in South east asia without residence permit and tax free if you hold a western passport. But it's also easy in those countries to get the proper paperwork if you have a bit of money to spend on it.
It's possibly the same in South America.
BTW it used to be easy as well for non european who enjoyed visa free entry in European countries to spend looooong stretches there.

If you hold an US or EU passport there is no PT status: If you are not taxed in another country (according to double taxation agreementRegards) you will be taxed by the country of last residence/passport issuing. If not -when you try to get your passport prolonged, it will be for just a week and only to return home -- payday. Try to open a bank account in the US as a non-resident alien. Try to open a bank account in the UK by mail (again as a non resident foreigner), same in Netherlands without a BSN .

FWIW I've opened recently a personal UK account without travelling there, internet banking is already working but it seems I need to go to London to pick up the debit card., which I can do without.
I suspect several banks can organise that if you have an account with them overseas.
Besides there are many countries where you can open accounts without beeing a resident there, although most often than not you have to show up in person.
