For Europe, the Dax is great. By the way even though I am in the eastern time zone, I prefer to trade it rather than the american futures !

  4. Sounds like a good idea if making a few scalps in the morning or at night.

What are the tax implications for trading Dax futures or Nikkei futures - how are the gains treated?

What is the opening time for Dax and Nikkei?

The FDax is open from 8am to 10pm in europe »» from 2am to 4pm ET.
So either you wake up very early and you stay up very (very) late. That's why I am still looking for something in the evening (more convenient) but Global futures doesn't propose any asian futures...

If you live in US and want to trade Asian markets Interactive brokers are your best and probably only choice.

I was trading Hang Seng for some time and now back to DAX. Hang Seng is very thin, and recent volatility made spread to increase to a point where I could not trade it since I had to dramatically increase my stop losses.

DAX is great, the major draw down for me wake up call at 2:30 am. For those interesting in DAX, do not bother trading it 1st hour, not much going on until stock market open at 3am (EST).
