  1. I can use them but prefer to trade my IB account so i can´t use TOS for submitting orders.

Sorry I missed the point that you were staying with IB for execution. It's hot here and I'm scraping/painting a lead paint garage and while I take breaks I check ET. For what it's worth I used IB in 2006-2008 and changed brokers because I was not satisfied for their futures data. You're asking about stocks so I'm no help.

  3. TC2000 is also quite good but only for charting. You will need to send orders on TWS or another platform thats linked with IB

You can use Medved Trader with Ameritrade as the data source, and submit orders from Medved Trader through IB. It's mix and match with any of the brokerages and quotes sources we support.

Do you think there is any lag since more entities are involved? Also, my opinion is that there is more risk when more parties are involved because what if one has technical issues? Just wondering

  6. With this combination can medvedtrader distinguish what is your broker and what is your datasource?

IMO, separating the market feed from the trading broker on the client side has no downsides. The up side is that if your broker's market feed glitches out (as we have seen with TDA several times this year) you just switch on the client side to another source and chug along.

And yes there is lag on the market feeds, sometimes more sometimes less, but using the broker's feed does not guarantee less lag.

On each MT window (like a watch list, or L2 or DOM etc) there is a data source that you can specify. On trading windows - such as trading ticket, L2, chart, or DOM - there is a trading source (broker). All windows are independent of each other so you can have L2 from one source, watch list from another, DOM from third, and each one can have a different trading account associated.

  9. For trading live with IB through NinjaTrader, you'll only need to pay for a license key. Kinetick is not required since it is a data feed and you can use your IB data feed instead (unless you prefer Kinetick as live data source). Also using NinjaTrader as the charting software and order entry does not lock you into using Kinetick for data. You can use any other provider as well such as IQFeed.

We also have many customers running Multi Charts and Sierra Chart.

Since we're a VPS provider specializing in Chicago servers for lag free chart trading and running automated strategies 24/7, we have traders using all different types of software combinations. NinjaTrader + IB is just one of the more common ones for IB brokerage with a different charting/order entry combo.
