So ... you want to appear 'choice' ... have THE 'image' ... look 'ivy league ...

It appears that with all that education behind you, you learned little about priorities. Let's see if I've got this right ... your parents want to reward you for your educational efforts by giving you 50 large (bravo to them, by the way) all of which you can (and seem to want to, for the sake of your image) spend on a car. And this is a display of money management techniques that you expect to impress a future employer !!???

I do indeed wish you well, sir; however, I would look upon you as someone with an image problem, low self-esteem, and a questionable ability to handle his own finances let alone those of someone else.

    Please ... re-evaluate and re-consider.

  7. Let the guy trade... we could all use a little extra gas money for our cars that our parents didn't buy.

  8. Actually, to be technically correct, the Lexus (ES) is the Toyota (Camry) on steroids.

  10. You have a tough road ahead of you if you thought that was negative advice.

For what its worth in all reality you don't need a car in Chicago, especially as a twenty something. You are either going to be at work or out drinking and from the loop you can get anywhere worth going in Chicago for a $15 cab ride.

So my advice to you is have your parents buy you that condo in a central location (Gold Coast or Lincoln Park) and take that $50K to furnish the place. That will get you allot more tail than any car will in this city.
