Best Car for Newly Hired Trader

  1. I suggest you get a BMX from your parents. BMW and Mercedez are for "real" traders.

  2. Why stop at a BMX? Go all the way:

  4. Did you ever consider getting what you want, rather than trying to be someone you're not?

  5. Why don't you learn some humility and take a lesson from Monroe Trout? It is rumored that the guy drove a beat up hand me down Oldsmobile during his tenure in Chicago, all while developing a reputation as arguably one of the best traders our time.

You’re not going to fool one person you work with by driving a $50K car. They are going to know where it came from and that you have not earned it through any hard work of your own, and believe me nobody cares who your parents are or where you came from. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is results.

My advice to you when you get to Chicago is to work hard and above all be humble.

Oh and never mention to anybody that you got $50K (whether it is in the form of a car or money to invest) from you parents as a token of there appreciation to you for finishing school. People in Chicago could care less.

  7. In high school the derisive comment was: "Yeah, he's got a neat car, it's a 'Daddy Donator.'"

The most bang for buck is the last year of the Camaro. $2500 in the suspension and you have 1G turns with a 4 speed auto/V8 combo that is really nice to drive. Those cars you mentioned are all "I've got new money" cars, a Camaro is a "who needs your frigging opinion" car, way different. Keep the remainder of the $50 grand and you can beat the PDT rules with your own money even after a drawdown. Take some race car driving classes as well and really get the most out of the car.

  9. Good God...what absolute skieve puke in that picture.

I think that's the turd that was on an armed robbery screed in my area to fuel his drug habit.

I heard the cops shots him 900 hundred times so that the nasty bastard wouldn't rise from the dead and contaminate society....again.

    ((shudder))

And who are you again? Thanks for the advice, but I run with a better crowd. A beat up Oldsmobile just wont do the trick. I'm guessing you don't have an Ivy League degree do you?

    Positive comments only please.
