I am planning on starting autotrading within the next year, and was wondering what the best broker to use was. I am trading exclusively US equities, and only about 5 times a week. IB seems to be a decent option, but the commission is pretty high for low cap stocks. Trading about 10-15,000 shares a week. I would really appreciate the help!

Email me more information on your requirements and I will respond directly. It would help to know

    Where you live?
    Size of the account?
    PM or Reg-t
Do need MD on the API?
Per share or per trade comm?

Anything else you want me to know?

People seem to only care about getting lowest commissions but they forget about when a mistake happens, how long does it take for broker to answer the phone, IB is one of the worst at doing it timely, more like 20 minutes on hold. I have them as 2nd backup, but that's it.
I do most of my stock trading through Lightspeed and also use Optionshouse.

  4. Maybe if you did more volume at IB they'd answer your call ;).
