Ok. I am on the treadmill for about 30 minutes burning 230 calos. I will shoot for 400 soon...If I did 400 in 30 minutes, I would get to 160 pronto. That means running almost continuously though, and not sure how much my lower extremity can take of this punishment. I am built for speed, not endurance...
Ok I will get it from DPS. Strange because something dramatic happened. Maybe it is the vitamins? I am definitely running stronger...The volume of air I can take without cramping, and the amount of punishment my body can take, something changed recently.
Well, as far as the cramping, the reason you cramp is because of a lack of water in your muscles. The creatine will help with that as it helps you retain water. If you have cramping problems, eat more bananas. Potassium helps your body retain water.
Bananas also can lead to constipation, so don't go over board. I screwed up my shoulder lifting about a month ago. Being stubborn, and 46 I figure who cares and I keep pushing, even though I feel something popping in my shoulder when I lift. Not sure what it is, but I guess I know I am going to be seeing a doc soon to find out what is going on. It feels like a tendon, or ligament is rolling between the shoulder and the collarbone. Hurts like a dickens, but I can still lift. For you ab people, my son who is in swimming, football, and track has given me a whole bunch of new training options. I f you have kids talk to them about what they are doing. Added planks in, and I see a difference in my abs. Actually I may see abs doing planks. The difference between workouts from when I was in high school and what they do now is amazing. My middle son is no small kid, 6'1", and 235, but he is in far better shape than I am or his older brother who hasn't been in as good a program. He swims the 500 and can maintain a phenomonal pace, whereas I almost died trying to keep up with him. Not kidding, I had to get out of the pool, or the lifeguard was going to be digging me off the bottom.
Well that depends, is he having traditional cramping that we all know and love from the lack of water/potassium. Is his lactic acid causing the cramp feelings? Or has he not developed his lungs enough and that is the "cramping"
Side Cramp or Stitch. It is from the inability to get enough air into your lungs. You are breathing to shallowly. If you still cant breath deep enough to get avoid the pain then you havent trained your lungs to do the exercise you are demanding from them. Working in High intensity sprints(any cardio) into your cardio will increase you lungs ability and help you sustain a stronger pace for longer distance.
Nitro, do you know what a dumbbell pullover is? You need to start doing those over a weight bench. Take very long deep breaths and do the exercise very slowly. It will help open up and expand your lungs and your rib cage.
