  3. I don't know. I've heard that said time and again, but it just never quite registers with me. Working with weights, I like to get the most bang for the buck in the gym, so I do compound exercises almost exclusively. I don't think there are all that many compound exercises to meaningfully engage in cycling, assuming I am interpreting your comment properly.

  5. Yeah, "periodization" is only worthwhile when performing isolated exercises. I alternate the following on a 4-split:

    Bench, squats, dips
    Deads, rows, biceps
    Overheads, reverse hypers
    Abs every 4th day

  10. i love resistance training...my arms are almost 15 1/2!

    i was just wondering why the need to carry so much muscle. All that muscle is very high maintenance in terms of time and calories. too many calories age's prematurely.
