Slight injury kept me from all-out lifting today. I don't know, my right shoulder feels fatigued, so I went easy on the weights. 9 lbs from initial target of 175, but I can already tell I am going to be disappointed with this weight because while the rest of me looks pretty good, I still have a belly. So new targets coming until I kill this fucker even if I have to starve. Got the new Dungarees from Khols (I knew the store name had an H in it). I always get killer prices on them because they are always sending me coupons (which they graciously allowed me to use even though I didn't have them with me). Dropped easily two sizes, but only bought down one size. Nothing worse than having uncomfortable clothing on just to pretend you can fit in them. Anyway, I don't look like a scare crow anymore.
I found this very interesting reading: "Ever wonder how Hollywood actors get in such incredible shape? Itâs not rocket science. But it is exercise science..." http://www.menshealth.com/spartacus/
Here's a tip. Big pecs and biceps does NOT equal "incredible shape". People often equate striving for aesthetics with fitness. They are not the same thing at all. Take these guys out of their nice sterile, controlled gym environment where they build their muscles in nicely defined ranges of motion that have nothing to do with real world demands and they'd fold like a house of cards under real world tests of fitness.
My feelings have always been that big muscles equal less strength since your punches and kicks are slower I like my lean muscle mass better -- I've yet to see anyone else do 1 arm pull-ups at my gym and people stare at me like I have 2 heads when I do them....lol I just need to focus on my conditioning now -- gotta quit cigs first tho - off and on smoker
i have a tanita scale. its BF measurement can vary +/- 1%. that's why you shouldn't rely just on the BF scale. there are 2 other ways to measure BF: calipers and tape measurements. i could never get consistent measurements with calipers so i tossed them in the trash. BF derived from tape measurements is fairly consistent. for men, you'd measure your waist, wrist and hips, then feed the results into a calculator. take the average of this and your electronic scale, and it'll give a pretty accurate number.
Then it must be my diet combined with exercising that is the result of my approximate 2lbs of weight loss a week.
