Here, here! Recent commercial by the NYSE, with picture and voice over by former Mayor, The Honorable Rudolph Guiliani. This is one classy commercial, and a healing commercial, especially for those of us subjected to being down in the Wall Street area, and having of had to deal with all those events and conditions for the last year. Let Freedom Reign.....
On the lighter side...does anyone remember the 'Nozula' commercials? Side effects: Children born with the head of a golden retriever... I was in a public place when I happened to think about it and had to suppress guffaws...
Yes! Wasn't that a parody or something, kinda like the Orkin ads where they show a fictitious company then a huge bug scrolls across the screen? Then the Orkin guy zaps the bug and it drops. The first time I saw that ad I instinctively looked to the floor to see where the bug went LOL
I love(d) that commercial, "side effects include...death". On the other side of the coin, I used to think the commercial with the little girl with the puppy dog eyes saying "promise you'll call me daddy" was pretty 'epic' but they've played it for so damn long now I'm ready to say "NO! I'M NOT GONNA CALL YOU - WHINY LITTLE BRAT! I'M LEAVING YOU AND YOUR #$%@ OF A MOTHER SO CRY YOUR $&@*% EYES OUT!" I can't even think of what company the commercial's supposed to be about - shows how worthless it is. All I know is it inspires me to kill children.
Allianz. They still show it. One of the worst things about the economic downturn and collapse in advertising is that certain annoying commercials have been playing well past their spoilage dates...
There's a fine example of an ad campaign that jumped the shark. The first 2 or 3 were cute, now they're downright obnoxious (except Yogi's). The latest one with that f*cken air impact wrench screeching sucks, as does the one with the 2 kids on the roller coaster.
I like the new ?NetWare? commercials where the lady on the plane is pretending her baby is flying and it throws up on the guy sitting beside her. And the one with the Asian tourist and the guy that runs in to the side of the bus.
The new Nasdaq 100 commercials make me feel good about Ballmer and Dell and Starbucks. I think they are well done BWTFDIK about advertising. On the other hand, this new Dell commercial depicting a group of young jackass hirees plotting to sell computers is pretty empty by way of message. Geo.
