Great, thanks. BTW I'm old-school :banghead: Been around in this business before the dawn of the internet, even before some of you were born.

Actually, maybe not quite "before the dawn of internet." Stood on a futures trading floor for the first time in '97 or so. Never actually worked on one, traded by phone to the floor. And interbank FX via dirty brokers.

Oh, so you phoned in too, eh? LOL Fond memories, friend. :finger:

Anyway, I installed Sierra for a test drive and, frankly, I am pretty overwhelmed by all the options/settings.

After having messed around with Sierra's Automatic Trendlines, I realized what I'm really looking for is the automatic "channel line". But allow me to explain further. I'm not looking for a ready-made garden-variety channel indicator. What I want is a duplicate of the trendline already drawn. I would use that to extend x-amount (eg. price, %, or a specific price coordinate) above or below the given trendline. That way, for example, I can go long when the bottom channel line is touched (or sell if breached), and vice versa for the upper channel.

Anyone know how to code this?
