Best 24 inch monitor?

  1. The actual viewable width of my Dell 2405 is 19.75 inches.

  2. If that's your view width, you've got a problem....

  3. Yeah, you are right. Thankfully, my problem is with the measuring tape, not the 2405.

    Sorry for the confusion.

  6. This is a great monitor... PIP and the swivel is a nice touch..... Picture is clear. Text is sharp....

    And the price is nice... $579.00

    The only thing I hate is... This maonitor takes forever to autosync to a source..

    If you have multiple systems running and turn on off, you have a WAIT.... My other units sync in ms's

  7. See, you just missed an opportunity to use the math you learned in high school. These chances don't come along often, make the most of them!

    The screen resolution is 1920x1200 so the width to height ratio is 1.6 to 1.

    h^2 + (1.6 * h) ^2 = 24^2
    3.56h^2 = 576
    h = 12.72 inches
    w = h*1.6 = 20.35 inches

    Here is a great site where you can compare TFTs:

    Six months ago I checked for >21",
    the BenQ FP241W had the best value for money
    (not only for trading, but for video, serious work, etc.)
    I would have bought it without second thoughts,
    but I am short of desk space...
