Besides the fact that capitalism

  1. system. If that was my goal I probably could come up with some great ideas. If I practiced thinking about social systems for a while. I like capitalism, the ideas iherent in socialism, such as men being equal, is ridiuculous. Socialism stunts the growth of mankind. My type of thinking is only possible in a democratic society.

Capitalism allows for art, scienctific discovery, et cetera. My goal is to tweek capitalism so that it performs better, more efficiently. A sustainable capitalism will allow for things that today we cannot conceptualize.

I'm interested in an evironmentally responsible, and more efficient capitalism. Our capitalistic system may function well enough already, but the possibilty of its difunction, environmental collapse, is enough to incite us to revamp things.

  2. Mother Nature could wipe you out in a second. What are you so worried about, or are you arrogant enough to believe that humans have the upper hand?

What you are describing is closer to a totaltarian dictatorship than capitalism.

    Suggested readings:
    The Republic by Plato

The Wealth of Nations by Adams

    The Open Society by Popper

Not a long list, but a very good start.

I wonder who is going to pay for your "more efficient capitalism that will allow for things we cannot conceptualize"?

Rowenwood...I see you're from California. That's a great start to understand your views on Capitalism. More then likely you watched to many episodes of Captin Planet.

Today it was reported that th US Post Office posted a surplus of 2.3 billion dollars. I suppose in your way of thinking it's ok for the Government to make a profit.

You also stated "Capitalism, the act of free trade and consumption, is very dangerous when t>he people are immoral".

I believe any form of government is dangerous when immoral people take over. We will never have a perfect government on this side of eternity.

But there is one undisputable fact proven by history. Capitalism provides the best standard of living for it's citizens over any other form of government Sure it's not perfect, but I'll take it over any other form of government.

  8. capitalism provides the highest quality of living in comparison to all other systems in history, capitalism is the most dangerous. Becuase in a short time frame capitalism provides the highest lquality of living- we all stuff our orifices until they are obese and consume on average 8 trees per year- the irrovacable environmental damage that capitalism has created and is creating, and in the long run, such as the next millenium, make capitalism arguably the worst system in history.

    Please infer properly.
I've now posted this idea three or four times. Though I like the attention please read carefully before replying.

Yes I'm glad you understand me better by knowing that I live in California. The pupose of stating my region has been acheived.

Laughing a lot around here today!

Your laughing probably caused you to ignore my question: who is going to pay for your "more efficient capitalism that will allow for things we cannot conceptualize"?

Also, do you think the majority of the population will agree with the changes necessary to implement your more efficient capitalism? (Of course you could just force them to do whatever you want with your army but that would not be very democratic would it?)
