Thanks. I will add that I not only will not take a trade before important news releases but I will also close an already open trade unless it is well in profit and I discretionarily find very good reasons to keep it open. Good trading Niko
I realize that but there are other important considerations that are not included in the SLA and I thought there were obvious...as, I do not know, the kind of not trading if your internet connexion disconnects frequently and there is a tornado announced in the area where you live, or if you are sick, etc. And I thought that not trading into important news announcement was this kind of obvious tacit things. (?) Would you enter a SLA trade just before an FOMC announcement?
I never pay any attention to news. On the other hand, if a tornado alert were issued, I most likely would stop using my computer long enough to find shelter. If I were sick, I wouldn't be trading at all. As to frequent loss of an internet connection, that's what catastrophe stops are for. Though if one is plagued with these sorts of things on a regular basis, he really ought to look into whittling.
Ok. I will be away for the next days but when I come back I will eliminate the "news release filter" from tactics. Since I am not trading real money but sim at the moment and the main purpose of this experiment and journal was to learn and practice the SLA-AMT approach, it makes perfect sense to stick to it in its entirety. Thanks.
For the time you're evaluating it, yes. Remember, however, that you're not required to use a 1m bar interval. If news is an issue with you, use a 15m or a 30m or an hourly. What matters is buying and selling the limits.
140502 pre I finally did not trade on the 30th. I had some computer problems and it took me some time to solve them. Yesterday I took the day off. It was International Worker´s Day *** For today, before RTH open:
