What is your point exactly? BRK has lagged SPY going back at least 20 years. There will almost certainly not be another 2008 moment in our lifetimes, due to changes in government/Fed policy and the vast oceans of dry powder waiting to buy cheap. Having a disciplined investment process is all well and good, but markets change, and at some point failure to adapt just makes you a dinosaur.

they are okay with underperforming for a decade. They are that principled and it’s worked.

crisises happen and when it does they’ll take advantage of it. Until then they will continue to deploy their cash prudently when they find suitable investments such that it continues to generate so much cash that they can’t deploy all of it prudently and people like you can call them dinosaurs.

Covid was a recent one. Where you could have made a boatload buying that super quick V dip.

  7. It's like hearing "stocks have reached a permanently higher plateau."

Value is value. Short term, prices can go anywhere. Long term, you need earnings.

I have no problem with everyone selling me their boring value stocks while they chase Nvidia.

If Trump brings the chainsaw to government waste like Javier Milei did in Argentina, Elon's prediction of a down market shortly, may come true!

the bear market dip may or may not be the same this time, valuations are sky high, and no print money would be available.
