  2. this guy is a complete idiot

brk.a is basically flat for the year, and that's his metric for criticizing buffett?

buffett is not a short term trader. he has said (and his investments reflect this) that he's not interested in short term gains. he's in it, as is his company FOR THE LONG HAUL.

there are few better investments you could have made OVER THE LONG HAUL than berkshire hathaway.

he's a brilliant investor who puts most mutual fund managers to shame. he manages an extremely large portfolio, with relatively low beta, and has provided a great return OVER TIME while buying value .

there are a heck of a lot of idiot chasers who would have been much better investing in buffet'esque companies (or brk itself) vs. stocks that cavitated during the dotcom bust.

  3. Doesn't the current stock price not mean something to you when you look up one year history? If you saw another stock chart like BRK.A you would run to the hills with or without your pants, YES?

Be honest, answer that for me.

Ok. If you have proof that you have made returns that beat Buffet FOR AN EQUAL OR LONGER PERIOD than you can say he sucks. Otherwise, shut the fuck up.

  6. Quote from day7793:

I think its flat. An 8% yield on world's greatest stock? WOW!

Hate to put it in your face, I will make an 8% return in my trading account this month. I was just figuring it out.

The value of businesses held by an entity such as Buffetts Berkshire can increase or decrease while not being reflected in the price of the stock.

Consider the amount of float received from the insurance business. The cash flowing from businesses that have long been paid for and yet generate perpetual residual income, year after year after year.

Whether you agree or not, the man has a discipline, sticks to it, and has amassed billions of dollars. He has made millions for his shareholders, kept taxes to a minimum, and has not been involved in any scandulous activity. It's a shame isn't it, nobody should want to be in business with a guy like that. As far as the stock price check the link.

Funny how we criticze anothers accomplishments when they dont match our view of how it should be done. While our way at times pales in comparison to the achievements we criticze.

    Take Care and God Bless!

  7. I was just driving home some numbers for the year 2007. BRK.A is an undervalued stock, sells 0.68 cents on a dollar, there is a 0.32 cent margin of safety.

Valuation done by me 8/23/2007. Warren Buffet left that stock undervalued for a reason.

Yes these people also have pR firms pushing them since thay can't advertise directly to investors.

I didn't say one year, I said for an equal or longer period. One year means nothing. Thats like saying you're more fit than someone who does an ironman because you ran one mile faster than their average mile during the marathon.
