I have never seen a certified nlp practicioner, however i have seen a psychotherapist using many elements of this theory, and also I have read the books, mainly with the goal of improving my trading results (maybe it helped). Usually, people would use nlp to gain "something", for example success in business, getting over fear of public speaking, etc. In the end, it seems to me, achieving these goals actually doesn´t make people more happy, but more something to suppress other, more deeper issues. These deeper issues cannot be solved by NLP *imo*, at least not easier than, by classical psychology (they are improving all the time of course btw., the psychoanalytical sessions a la freud is not all that is out there anymore), but rather by time, interacting with people with more experience, or just by thinking it over and over. Having solved the deeper issues, probably you wouldn´t care about the superficial goals anymore anyway, and if they still do, they will come more natural than by using NLP. An example: You are making an ok living, but you want to make a lot more money because of some underlying deeper issue, so you want to develop your trading skills more. You might go and use NLP to do this. This might help or it might not help. I believe it will probably help, because the more you immerse yourself in trading stuff, the more you will become attuned. Let´s say you make more money now. Will you be happier now? No, because the underlying issue is still there. the underlying issue can probably not be solved by NLP, because it´s not a skill you need to develop, it´s more of an understanding of yourself, or more realistic thinking that you need. Actually NLP could hurt, by making you think irrealistically, or out of touch. (think American Beauty, the wife making the affirmations as a real estate broker, or later in the car (probably not NLP I agree): "I am not a victim, I am not a victim, I am not..") In case, having no underlying deeper issues pushing you towards succeeding more in the trading business, then you will probably not need NLP anyway to become a better trader, because you will be naturally extremely focussed already anyway (or in the flow, as this guy with the name mihaelhisihichick or something would say) Yes, this story has some autobiographical elements, but noone needs to know ;-) Also, I am not an expert at all, so I might as well be talking out of my ***
a western mind cannot differentiate between happiness and joy. Happiness is often false pretense... Joy is real Happiness is fleeing Joy is forever Happiness is often based on externals Joy is inner and radiates outward.
