beat the market book

  1. What happened to the author of "beat the market", "edward tharp"? He also wrote the best seller book called "beat the dealer". Is he still trading?

    Thorp's "Beat the Market" book was written prior to the existence of the option exchanges, so his initial strategy was based on warrants. His first hedge fund was Princeton-Newport (1969-1988), which averaged a 15 percent rate of return. He founded his second fund , Ridgeline Partners (1994-2002), which used a form of relative value trading. He is purported to have averaged between a 15%-25% return every year from 1966-2003. Thorp was writing a regular article in Wilmott magazine, not sure if he still is. Some of the archives are available on
