  1. The front office is crucial. As frustrating as watching a dysfunctional team can be, ie Redskins, it is illuminating. It is almost uncanny how they get every major decision wrong.

  2. The long term contract awarded to Cutler was the biggest CYA move in the league last year. His erratic performance never warranted the deal, but the media along with the hype machine never tires of "stats". Cutler produces "stats", alot of bad ones AND alot of garbage time passing yards...plus the whole "philosophy" of the NFL has become overly obsessive about securing some prototypical QB at the expense of the rest of the team.

    I knew Emery would sign the guy regardless of what transpired...simply because the thought of him going elsewhere and gunning his way to 4,000 yards (regardless of the W-L record) was too much for him to handle...
