Be very very afraid if Obama wins.

  1. I think your rationalizations are common among the more intelligent Obama supporters. That is his gift. He seems to be able to get people to project sensible center/moderate positions to him, even though he has never taken such positions himself.

I think liberals view this as the price they have to pay to support a black man. At least he holds out some hope to you, unlike Jesse jackson or Sharpton. Clearly most democrats would not support a white guy with Obama's troubling background, lack of experience and far left positions. Of course, if he were white, he wouldn't be in the senate either.

I want Obama to win. It's the only way for the Bush haters to realize they are not the smartest people in the room.

  4. Sam, please don't confuse recognition of ignorance with arrogance.

For example, McCain states does not know how to operate a computer.

Clearly it is not arrogance to point that out.

  5. Obama won it months ago.

The REP politicos and money men way up in the machine know he doesn't have a prayer.

Show me the situations in the nation's history where a reviled Presiden't party has held office using a new face.

And WTF do you REPS think is going on over in Iraq this morning with Obama and Hagel anyway - a stunt? That look like another Dukakis to you? Obama is taking over. Congress is already done - nobody cares what Republicans think - newspapers don't mention Congressional REPS. Bush isn't in any sort of meaningful power or prestige, he's a smoking cinder and so is the party. And Jerry McCain isn't going to win and you're facing 8-12 years mumbling on message boards.

Obama will get 500,000 in Berlin this week while McCain can't get 500 in Biloxi or any of the other shitholes where they'll still listen to a Republican.

  6. Obama creates a strategy and timeline for Iraq, then goes to iraq to get advice from generals and iraqi politicos.

Backwards doesn't even begin to describe this ignoramous.

  7. Maliki and whole mid-east wants the check signed by Obama - not Bush or that buck tooth dolt Rice. They aren't stupid. :p

  8. First of all, polls in July mean ZERO. Perot was ahead and Clinton dead last in July polls. Dukakis was ahead in July polls.

Secondly, Obama should be happy these polls mean nothing as he should be ahead by 15 to 20 points. The fact that he isn't says something is definitely wrong. Especially since congress, as you properly state, will be even more democratic come January.

Finanally, that intrade crap had Hillary routing Obama at one point. It reacts, does not predict.

  9. Jay:

"Secondly, Obama should be happy these polls mean nothing as he should be ahead by 15 to 20 points. The fact that he isn't says something is definitely wrong."

If the Democrats win, no matter what the margin, the Republicans will say they should have won by more. You might also want to note this:

"Via e-mail, a prominent Republican strategist who occasionally provides advice to the McCain campaign said, simply, "We're fucked."

  10. Obama's a crappy candidate. Period.

Jayford was completely correct. A "generic" Dem ala' Hillary or Gore would be leading by 10-12 points. Maybe more.

When a candidate with minimal record or vetting starts flip flopping it turns off, even scares swing voters.

The hard left will attempt to portray McCain as some kind of neo-con McBush war monger ect. It's a tactic getting little traction with mainstream America. On the other hand Obama's move to the center is hurting him. America isn't interested in just replacing a soon to end war in Iraq with an increased belligerence in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

My prediction remains. If elected Obama will reinstate the draft as a way of putting young adults to work and then put us in one mother fucker of a war in the afore mentioned region.
