I'm just going to go away and be happy and make a bunch of money now.

My mom is an American Indian with an ingrained mistrust of conventional wisdom and was able to point out to me many, many, bogus things over time that were surprisingly obvious once understood. To me, conventional wisdom is very easy to lose, and this thread made me realize that was a key element in my current happiness and success in several areas of activity, the most recent of which is trading. I know that there are going to be more areas as I am now accelerated in all areas since my retirement income is way up and I have a new tool, the rooting out of conventional wisdom to work with.

We have to have these little talks more often.

  2. And furthermore, why should I give a rats ass if Jack is profitable or not? Using his equities method I caught NVEC yesterday, which went for a %21 ride, as did many others. AGAIN I might add. Personally I hope none of you doubters bother to look into this stuff.

  3. OK gotta agreee...

I am not saying that you cannot make money with Jack's method. But, the claims are wildly exagerraged. 3x daily range??? I mean, who the hell losses all that money to someone else... you think people who trade.. the opposite of your trades are FOOLS?

I neither care, nor do I give a shit if Jack makes money... I have my method that I trust in, and I am 100% sure that it is better than the Hershey method.

The FALLABILITY in the claims make me highly skeptic of the motives of Mr. Jack and his cohorts...

I've said it before, I'll said it again. Who cares if Jack claims 3x the daily range? LOL, would you not be happy with 1/3 of that? with 1/10th of that? I know I am.

If you are 100% sure it is better, why do you care so much about hershey's stuff (as you must to post so tirelessly in these threads)

Jack's equity stuff has been backtested with great results. And if the Grobian voodoo peforms as advertised, why the heck would anyone waste their time starting a hedge fund?

  6. I have no problem with that. I don't care what it does for him or others, but it makes me money, so I use it.

Leading newbies to believe the following

    Jack_Hershey ;

" I use leading indicators (17) to be sure I know what is going on and what is coming up next."

and claiming you can make 3 times the daily range , I find almost criminal and is part of creating the illusion.

Leading indicators(aka holy grail) DON'T exist and making 3 times the daily range is almost impossible.

If he just had the track record to back up his claims.......................if he had that, he wouldn't be writing books on elitetrader

  8. yeah.. for the last 5 mins... I wouldn't call that tirelessly.

I am NOT happy with 1/3rd of what he may make... ( I know, I am not talking about range..).. But, lets get real.. .I doubt if Hershey is a profitable trader.. He may have the expertise, the talk and the long posts, but I highly doubt it. All the more signs of a loser.

Answer my question. Why do you care? Where does your hostility come from? Genuinely curious. I mean, all trading stuff aside. Person to person. Why do you care? Did Jack Hershey eat your firstborn children or something? (This is for gerry too)

I wonder if you are as hostile in real life when talking to someone, or if it's just the internet facade thing?

  10. I can spot a profitable/successful (I understand that some people's definition of the "success" of a system is different) system from a mile away. Hershey's system isn't one of them. Thanks....
