Much like the âeventsâ that are unfolding in the subsequent 60 years from Israels theft of Pal. Lands. Who would've figured?
The point of Mahatma Ghandi is that it's wrong to place the Jewish state in Palestine, when the land was not owned or controlled by Jews. He correctly foresaw the conflicts to come. It doesn't matter how much the Jews suffered, because the compensation is coming from a third party who had nothing to do with holocaust. Obviously, the British government who made this awful decision should be held responsible as well. If the Jews want a homeland, it should be created in Europe, because that's where the holocaust was committed.
Partially it was controlled by the jews, partially it was controlled by the Arabs, partially it was controlled by the British. The land was scarcely populated in the beginning of the 20th century and during the first half of the century both jews and arabs migrated there in great (and approximately equal ) numbers. The idea to partition the land was therefore fair and completely justified. Please keep in mind that Palestine in the first half of the 20th century included the territory of Jordan so it's kind of hard to be all that sympathetic with the arabs when they got about 80% of the land first (Transjordan) and then split the remaining 20% with the jews. During the partition the Arabs got virtually all the land they owned and controlled.
They were offered other lands on other continents at the time. But those others were turned down for one reason or another. Obviously, peace with the neighbors is not that highly regarded to these people.
You may have forgotten that Israel did not steal but captured the land in wars Israel did not start but did win. You may have forgotten that the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza two years ago did not lead to good things in Israel and/or Gaza but led to the election of Hamas and daily Qassam attacks on Israeli towns. You may have also forgotten that Israel offered all that land back in 1967 and heard "No peace with Israel, no negotiations with Israel, no recognition of Israel" from the arab world. The two arab countries that changed their minds later got every inch of their land back. You may have also forgotten that virtually all that land was offered back to Arafat in 2000 in exchange for a piece of paper with the title "Peace Agreement" on top of it. It was not good enough. Don't thank me for reminding you about these things, better read some history books.
When you steal a $100.00 bucks from someone, and then offer to give $40.00 of it back to make friends, well, to most of us, you're still a thief, and you still need to give back another $60.00 bucks. Your math may be different.
Fair enough but certainly does not reflect the situation in the middle east. It's the arabs who have been trying to steal all land from the Jews since Israel was established in 1948, not the other way around. Ironically the arabs have never been shy about their intentions. When you steal $100 and offer $40 back it's clearly not good enough. When on the other hand you are invaded by 5-7 armies, win the war, occupy their land and offer to return it in exchange for peace - it's absolutely 100% kosher, is in line with all international laws, treaties and traditions. PS your non sequitur was quite amusing though, I'll grant you that.
Fine. So you don't believe in Israel's right to exist. Now we're getting to the bottom of your real views. This is a legitimate (albeit dumb) position actually but it's quite obvious that no matter what Israel does or does not do people like you will never be satisfied. You might as well keep posting "I hate Israel and I want it to disappear" in every thread instead of coming up with ridiculous and absurd accusations. At least you'd be intellectually honest. And rest assured that Israel is not going to oblige, it will keep doing what needs to be done to defend its population and sovereignty and keep ignoring the nonsense spewed by people like you as it knows full well what your true intentions are.
It's interesting how the truth eventually comes out. Chuck, Retired, Wael, many other so called palestinian supporters all sooner or later show their true colors. All this nonsense they are spewing about atrocities, occupations, innocent lives, international laws, peace, humanitarian issues etc is nothing more than a smokescreen behind which they are trying to hide their hatred of the very fact of Israel's existence.
