First off, the Earthquakes here in California are designed to keep everyone else out! Secondly, go 25 miles East of San Francisco and the temperature jumps from a cool 55 degrees in the foggy Summer of San Fran to 90 degrees of DRY heat in Contra Costa County of the East Bay because the Oakland/Berkeley Hills keep all of the fog out. In September, the Bay is absolutely spectacular! No fog whatsoever and crystall clear Indian Summer views from the Berkeley Hills at 10PM at night . . . 75 degrees. Mmmmm..... Thirdly, California has an awesome University system and the Pac-10 is one of the most competitive conferences around. Stanford wins the Sears Cup Trophy every single year for Division 1-A schools, and even CAL-Berkeley ( known for its acadamia ) finished a best ever 9th in the Sears Cup just last year! Fourth, Ahnald is giving us a $15 billion dollar bond measure to vote on this week. How else does the government reliquefy itself? It issues more debt!
Psssst. Anyone from New England read this thread and get overcome with jealousy? Makes me want to drink the strong Kool-Aid. Geo. Well, at least I can ski on solid ice. Yeah, ok, I feel better now.
The things I miss the most about New England are the Patriots, and tax-free shopping in NH. Check out the median sales price of existing homes in the US for the last quarter: http://www.realtor.org/publicaffairsweb.nsf/Pages/MetroPrices4thQtr03?OpenDocument Compare the changes from 2001 to the last quarter for Boston, SD and SF metro areas: Boston: 356.6 -> 406.8 SD: 298.6 -> 456.7 SF: 475.9 -> 574.3 In 2001, Boston was more expensive than San Diego. Now, SD has overtaken Boston, and is fast catching up to the Bay Area level. TraderC
no offense to Tennesee'ans and all, but...I'll stay in Santa Cruz, Cali and ride my horse at the beach in the afternoons after trading.....;-)...then head up to my house in the incredible redwoods. Although Tennessee DOES have some excellant equestrian stables, riders and horseback riding country from what I've heard! rttrader1 -
Hard to do that in the winter time when there is so much rain and somewhat chilly outside. San Diego is drier and warmer. It's nice and sunny outside right now. TraderC
