Basics of equity option payoffs

Ah, such pretty economy of expression. Fortunately for newbies - most of whom wouldn't know what any of that means or even that they should look it up - some of us here are willing to translate such elusive mysteries to them...

The memories of being so completely lost that I didn't even know what questions to ask are still fresh enough that I'm willing to carry the anvil for these guys, at least a little ways. But yeah, it's not exactly rocket surgery.

  3. Ugh. I didn't bother seeing any of those movies before, and now I have lots of good reasons to actively avoid them. Spock looks non-binary and gender-fluid, and the actor trying to play McCoy couldn't attract a clue about acting if he was standing in a field of clues in the middle of clue mating season and he was smeared with clue pheromones. If I saw some wanker trying to walk in James Doohan's shoes - there was a real man, dammit - I'd probably throw my monitor at the wall and scour my eyes and my brain with bleach.

    No thanks.

Not to sidetrack the thread too far here on this little tangent we're having, but just wanted to make it known those reboots were cast against TOS when they were much younger, just coming out of the academy. I think J.J. Abrams did a great job of pulling it off. If one keeps an open mind and understands that, one may find them enjoyable in that it is an altered canon. Sticks close enough to original flavor while also maintaining a new distinct feel.

I can understand the stodginess though.

  5. There are definitely things I'm stodgy about, and my old-time SciFi - even the parody stuff, which ST was supposed to be (at least according to Rodenberry, who came to one of my club's events and did a lecture for us) - is one of them. If somebody wants to make a new show, great - but no need to ride on the coattails of something that was completely different, and was made for a different time.

(Waitadamn minute... is this me grousing??? And what are all you kids doing on my lawn, anyway?)

Yep, if there was one actor in the world who I think would be masquerading as someone else on ET, it would be Clint Eastwood, under your nick. Heheh!

K, any further discussion about this will happen in PMs, we are truly taking away from the options talk. :)

Folks, our Star Trek discussions have now been shifted to PMs.

You can continue on with "Arbitraging dispersion and learning max(S-K,0)!", whatever the hell that is. You options folks are crazy.

  10. See... you're really missing out. max(S-K, 0) is actually the new, updated version of Max Headroom, and he rocks. Has a Tiktok channel of his own with millions of followers and a bunch of swag with all the famous labels. Ya freakin' boomers just don't know nothin'.

P.S. Wait till you hear about his two brothers, C=S-K+P+B and P=C+K-S-B...
