Basic Questions about IB

    the ecn's will accept orders but not NYSE. i believe order types such as market on open are in the works.

    Of course you can get an NYSE "market on open" execution with IB. Simply enter a market or sufficiently widely priced limit order before the open and you will participate in the opening print. Unfortunately MOC orders are not available, though.

  3. No. IB will not accept orders until the NYSE opens. That's what support told me. JJ

    Have you still not figured out that wuite a few of the IB support staff is clueless? Why don't you just try it out. It works for me.

    I think the confusion here is that IB will not accept opening only orders (i.e., if the order is not filled at the open price it is cancelled). No big deal if you are willing to cancel the unfilled orders yourself.
