Damn, I really have to work on changing my opinion during the trading day! The Yen rallied another 120T over night after I covered! Damnit! I am sour about this one, but then I guess that's just greed creeping in. I can condole myself by saying I took enough gain to buy myself a new car. Or something like that. Ah f*ckit. Baruch, to answer your question: Of course I never went short! I already explained that to Jayford here: The uptrend was way too strong, and unless I see a clear reversal sign, I won't take a fade! Retrospectively, you can now see exactly why I meant what I said. Would have kept my position by a hair's breadth, but got scared out and lost that gain to better and more informed players... GBP, as said, was covered for a tiny loss. EUR was covered for a mediocre gain. Overall, it was a decent day though yesterday. If you add up all the trades I posted here, you'll see. I also took a little bit on ES and the ER2 on top of that. I think I should post less here though. I don't think it really serves anybody disclosing my positions, and I'm getting too much PM which I'm feeling uncomfortable to delete / not answer. For those who read this: PLEASE DO NOT PM / EMAIL! Ask questions on this or another thread, and I may answer, also many others can answer. There's nothing community-productive about private messaging. Thank you! And besides this is Baruch's thread, not mine... I want to see more of Baruch's stuff, he's got a great system! Flat now, waiting for a place to go long just about anything. I suppose that's a bear-sign for the greenback. Scientist. P.S: I suppose if you consider that +27 on the EUR equals +6.75 on the ES, the gain wasn't all that mediocre at all. All a matter of perspective.
No Mike, let's reformulate it this way: I hope you went long! Since you had so much conviction in your opinion - no reason not to back it up.
WOW, another perfect entry, and it went all the way to 215. Very nice. Since the news were bogus (way exxagerated for the # IMO), I took a good deal at 224 (precise 60% fib level), for +20T, took some more below, when the tape stalled, around the 18 level, the total on position was ~23T. Went short again also at 38, which went widely in my favor (15+), but then the big anti-spike came, and I exited that one BE. I missed 100% of the upmove (no decent entry opp), then finally went short at 1.2310 (top of the daily triangle). I believe there's some good room for this move, it's a very high R:R play. Missing totally on that 100+ move got me quite upset really, I should have gone long as we touched the lower triangle part... Ah well. Next time. See how this short turns. Hopefully all the way back to the triangle bottom... Scientist
Yes, the entry was almost perfect, as it turned out... Maximum drawdown 1T! Well, I followed the chart pattern. It went down shortly after than. The news propelled it right into super-profit... I took about 2/3 of what I could have taken. Shame about missing the later long though...
Much smaller than you'd think... Well, the stop on that particular play was 4T, actually. And the gain was more than 5 times that. What matters is not how often you're right, but how much you win if you're right and how much you lose if you're not...
Added more to short here at 1.2320 level. Holding firm and tight... Also just entered ES short at 20.25 small size, then after the news I went large size at 20.50. OK, this might seem like an unbelievable entry now, and you really don't have to believe it. It was witnessed by trimdax in the chat, though, you can PM him. Planning to cover most of ES around this level, a bit lower, maybe go for 5pts on that part, and keep the rest for a swing short. I think markets might tanks for the next few days... Scientist
Out of most of ES short, average +4.25 pts. Might re-enter short at higher level, but still holding 1/4 for swing trade. P.S: I have a short LMT ES @19.50 and 19.75. If price gets there, that'd be my next entry...
