Barton Biggs Refers to U.S. Markets As "Uninvestable"

  1. The United States economy is being brought to its knees.

This has happened in the past.

We have got back on our feet through the strong moral will of the American people, and some political leadership.

As a trader, I am not doom and gloom.

There will be plenty of profitable trades to be made.

But as far as INVESTING in America's future, think again.

There is an election coming up, and for voters it is pretty much a lose-lose situation.

America had its couple of centuries of greatness.

    Biggs is on to something.

When you invest in a nation's markets, you are also investing in the nation itself.

I would not put a thin dime on a nation's long term future when it is dependent on leadership from likes of Bush, Paulson, Bernanke, McCain or Obama.

I think Biggs was referring to the immediate situation, not the long term prospect of the US.
