I am NOT beating on IB. I use them and I am very grateful that they offer me service.

However (ya just knew that was a setup, didn't ya?) :D,

IB doesn't give you "real" RT quotes. Yeah, they aren't delayed, and yes indeed (thankfully) they are frequently faster in blazing fast markets than many others - when the rumors about OBL's kids hit the markets, my TS6 was well behind TWS.

But, they are not a T&S sort of shop (yet, anyways). They do not claim to provide 100% of all trades, and they do not deliver it. Instead, they offer fast executions, a very open trading platform, and dirt cheap commissions for a 5 or 10 contract guy such as myself.

IB promotes the neato "component" way to trade. Way back when, stereo systems where sold as units. You bought your speakers, turntable, amps, 8-track player :)D), etc. all in one system, all from the same place, all from the same manufacturer. Then, they introduced components, and you could by Bose speaks and Kenwood amps. Life was much better, and the folks that made all this stuff had to get better at every component to succeed. This resulted in way better systems.

The same applies to trading. We do not want a single supplier of everything. We want fierce competition for every single piece of our dollar. And we get that from components.

    Brother Pussy,

I have several computers - but yes, I throw the world at my trading computer and it does seem to crash one/twice a day.

    Who cares?
