Hi guys since my subscription may have expired I thought I would take a look back at the two best stock pickers to be profiled in Barrons while we have been playing along. Let's start with Merryl Witmer, she;'s kind of young and cute to be in this business but she is as usual the bomb. Her picks dazzle. (1) Navistar. Ok they got sort of delisted and booted to the Nazdog the stock preformed really well for her $35 to $45 before rolling over. judging by the chart I'd guess she is out. (2) Texas Industries- a Stoney stock- $66 to near $80! Before rolling back to $73. (3) Kaiser Allum this was the big dog $58 into $72 where it remains rooted. 3 picks 3 winners you can't ask for more than that. Next year Barrons let's leave the old boy network home and just have a Meryl interview! The other cool cat was the only guy saying buy tech now and what's amazing is all his damn picks are up after this carnage. The guy is Michael Cahill from Chilton Investments-- his picks (1) Anadigics which only exploded the very next monday and has gone from $9 to $13. (2) Echostar Comm $40 to $42.70 eh. Not bad. (3) MEMC $52.40 to $54.87 (4) SIFY $7.60 to $8.30. It's not so much the % up for each of these but the fact that they each dwell in techland and each has not only survived this downdraft they are UP! To pick 4 out of 4 that way is truly fantastic. Congratulations Mr. Cahill you and Ms. Whitmar are Stoney's Barrons King & Queen of the trades. Keep up the great work.
