i can see why you don't care about one cent increments...it really doesn't effect your trading greatly. but please give us some respect.....our trading is greatly effected and it is the specialist that is benefiting. that doesn't mean we aren't making money...we are just having to split much more with the specialist these days. also, we have adapted but we are not going to change "careers", which would be the case if we traded like you.
i know its tough to adapt to change and that sometimes we get lousy cards. i started out in commodities when they sucked, no solid action there whatsoever, and had to figure things out in markets where professionals outnumbered retails by 99 to 1, and where there weren't even any dumb mutual funds, every single player in the game was capitalized and tough. i didn't just walk into my current strategy with a bluebird on my shoulder either, i took hard earned knowledge and adjusted it with the harsh lessons of many setbacks and screwups and wakeup calls. i know all about walking a frustrating road that alternates between anger, despair and sleepless nights before finally getting where you want to go. i know all about hating change with a passion, about swearing that if i had to learn one more thing or make one more mistake i would smash my computer. so i'm not making pronouncements on high from smugville, i've faced the pain. i guess i just reacted to the complaining aspect, which isn't good for anyone. there's no value in lamenting what you cannot change, only in working with what you can.
i agree with your comments 97%. i think there is a difference between complaining and venting, and i think venting can be quite valuable. as long as i'm making money with the given system then a wholesale change will be avoided. i have adapted to one cent increments but some days i get pennied to death and when i do i like to vent. (better than taking it home with me) but i appreciate your previous comments, it sounds like the change has been good for you.
good point, i agree w/ that distinction. blowing off steam can be beneficial to one's mental health, and anger is far more useful than despair.
darkhorse, I've got you in my sights, and will be posting .00001 in front of all your orders. Tell your boyz to start looking for three card monte games to run.
