That's great however get your calipers out and compare results going forward. Let's see what kind of correlation the two might have. Another thing, is DXA accurate, and how accurate?? Can't assume anything I think..
Ok, I got my DEXA scan done today. Bottom line. Body fat came in at 12.9%. For comparison purposes, the scale I've been using said 15.5% bodyfat this morning so that's a pretty significant difference if you ask me. I bought a package of 4 of these scans so the real test will be the next scan to see if there's been any improvement from this point. I don't really plan on changing my diet or workouts much because everything seems to be working based strictly upon the fat reduction I can feel around my midsection. They gave me results on my bone density as well and my T-score was .7 which is normal but there's room for improvement.
Isn't amazing that no matter how hard train the calves, they never get much bigger. Everything else swells...
That's excellent! Just out of interest, they do the scan with you wearing clothes? I have to strip down to my boxers.
4 different methods comparison, the results were between 17.8 and 25.7. To me that is way too big spread, some of the methods must be pretty unreliable. I think the scale is just using a simple calculation method, highly unreliable...Compared to the other methods (including estimates by 2 coaches) the scale measured more by 2-3%.
To me it shows once more that those scales are predominantly measuring the body fat in your legs. And extrapolate that to your entire body. Your detailed dexa scan results show that your legs have the highest body fat percentage.
Baron, I thought you were closer to 11% than 15%, if I recall correctly. This is an interesting series of articles, don't know how accurate it is but fun read. https://weightology.net/the-pitfalls-of-body-fat-measurement-part-1/
