Improved health and longevity? Improved immune system? Improved strength and mobility? Improved mood and reduced stress? Improved sense of control? Improved appearance and self-image?
Interesting thread. I'm cutting myself from about 13% BF (as calculated by ultrasound scanner device). Baron, I would suggest you buy some calipers and take measurements each week of skinfat levels at different regions of the body. In my view that's more revealing as to where fat is being lost (or gained).
I understand where you're coming from but all a triathlon represents is a goal to achieve. To me, the goal of getting to 9% is just as significant as the goal to complete a triathlon is, especially at my age.
It's an arbitrary goal, and that's fine (like crossfit) but don't conflate it with longevity strategy. To get the toxins out? You are doing almost everything right! You look great. You eat great. I would throw a pizza or two in there once in a while
One of the great features of your physique your muscles appear thick...they have 'width'. What is the circumference of your wrist? If going under 10% BF requires 10-12lb loss of BW, you may not be happy with the potential loss of muscle volume.
wrist and ankle circumference is a rough estimate of joint width. Big wrist...more 'stocky' physique.
Yeah, I'm aware. There is also an elbow measure to determine frame. But, alas, there are no elbow corsages, eh?
