Now that you've been told it's there, if you still choose not to look for it, you'll never find it.

So let me get this straight, you're telling me that from the post that I linked to that there is a huge nugget of information there? Here is the post just so we are all on the same page.

He talks about how his system predicts everything in the moment, and that he has no idea what the system will say (so to the rest of us who didn't program the system, its essentially a black box). The system gives him the best price. He admits that the longer into the future you're looking, the less accurate the system will be, and in fact, the reduced accuracy is exponential.

About the only nugget I see is that we all need to develop our own system.

Firstly I wouldn't classify myself as a crypto hater but rather a crypto sceptic. I don't really see a day to day use for a digital currency for the majority of the population. It's supposed to be digital gold and I don't see too many people transacting in gold.
And I don't see it as digital gold because of the wild price fluctuations.
Now in defence of my being old and not keeping up, you are right. But I have seen what progress we have made over the years. I would have trouble keeping up without the internet and have seen lots of things improved greatly because of it. Bitcoin doesn't exist without the internet. What is the possibility that something else will be developed that will be greatly superior to BTC in the next few years.
As far as I can see BTC is supposed to be a peer to peer version of electric cash. It hasn't been widely adopted as such.
BTC is supposed to be digital gold. Again it hasn't proven to be a very reliable store of value.
BTC is supposed to eliminate using a trusted third party for transactions. The problem seems to be that we want/need a trusted third party to protect us from ourselves.

I keep asking how to value BTC. (Sorry Noah) I understand that price is based on supply and demand. I understand that the supply is limited and will steadily decrease as private keys are lost. What have trouble understanding is where the demand will come from. It's not finding acceptance as a currency and it's not a very reliable store of value. All I can see is FOMO.

And yes I know I have to keep up with the times. I hate having a phone that is smarter than me and yeh I still keep a few grand around the house in case of emergencies. And I don't own any BTC. I've seen a lot of fads come and go, lets hope BTC isn't one of them.

  8. I haven't been following the thread closely, so thank you for the info.

Several years ago, I "averaged" into a few trades. I vowed never to do that again.

I like to call myself an Objective Observer. When someone calls us haters that is just a cultist "we against them" attitude. What I do hate are ponzis, frauds and taking the average joe for a ride. And make no mistake cryptoland is a cult, just like Tesla or GME.

Anyhow, I like technology thus I don't like crypto. :)

Let's make it clear, almost nobody is in it for the tech. (OK, maybe 1%) Everybody just wants to get rich. The features and usages are completely irrelevant. Anyhow, long story short, Bitcoin is coupled to the market. Until a decoupling occurs, it is just a high beta tech stock.

So wherever the market is headed, there goes cryptoland. By the way the best debates are not between nocoiners and cultists, but among crypto fans. I just love when they are shitting on each other's coins.

    I am long popcorn futures...

I keep shouting this over and over again. I'm in it for the transformative power that it will have on humanity. The central bank cartels have destroyed this world enough and many of the huge problems we have today are directly linked to what central banks do. Now that we are in the end game of high debt, and with the US needing to print $1 trillion every year just to pay the bills, its simply a guessing game of how and when this will all collapse, not if.

So perhaps instead of saying everyone is in it to get rich, maybe you should say many of us see the writing on the wall and are trying to protect what we have because we can see the ship sinking.
