Hey Virt, This is a heated thread but I'd be legitimately interested in your style if you have a thread somewhere discussing it. Cheers,
I get what you're saying, and that would certainly be a nightmare for me if that were to actually happen, but the main point to remember here is that my funds were with FTX.us, not the global version based in the Bahamas that all of this controversy is surrounding.
Hi, all I wanted to share is already on ET. I wrote over 11,000 post since 2004 and got over 5,000 likes. I did noit get these likes in the "entertainment" part of ET. I am fed up with the childish behavior from several people on ET. That led me to the conclusion that I will not post anything interesting anymore. Baron concluded that I never contributed to anything on ET, so sharing interesting things seems to be in reality just garbage. He also wants me to post account statements before he can admit that johnarb was lying about me. That indicates the level of discussion, and the level of "contribution". I just posted an excel in another thread, but that's the last thing I will share. I don't need ET to become smarter. I know all I need to make consistently money. I research and build things that nobody on ET even knows the existence about.
This is what ET thinks is acceptable behavior, absolutely disgusting imo! But this is/was not a one off, there were scores of posts similar to this.
Yeah, right! If you had such a thin skin, you would have left this forum long time ago. Even though I ain't your fan, I kinda like your posts. They're abrasive as f at times but also set themselves apart from the usual norm. So I say, spam on.
The whole group of companies will be confiscated. It doesn't matter where in this group of companies your money was. All the funds got mixed up everywhere in the group. After that they will check who has priority to get money back (like banks who gave credit, financiers who have a guarantee from FTX, the government, etc...). https://www.pymnts.com/cryptocurrency/2022/more-than-130-ftx-group-companies-file-bankruptcy/ More Than 130 FTX Group Companies File for Bankruptcy This is what happened after Madoff: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...rs-must-pay-back-profits-court-rules-n1241040 Innocent Madoff investors must pay back profits, court rules Investors who profited from Bernard Madoff’s massive Ponzi scheme even though they knew nothing of it must still pay back their profits, an appeals court decided Thursday. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan upheld lower-court decisions in cases filed by Irving Picard, a court-appointed trustee who has recovered money for cheated investors for over a decade. Madoff customers who received millions of dollars more than their original investments fought in court to hang on to their profits, arguing through their lawyers that they had receive the payouts in good faith and that too much time had passed to let Picard recover the money.
You're ignoring how much @johnarb has tried to be helpful. Its kind of like dealing with a bully. At first you try and be nice but the bully keeps coming around. So eventually you push him away, and somehow you're in trouble because you pushed him. How about all of the antagonizing behavior that led up to this? I think this explains the frustration. If a person truly doesn't believe in Bitcoin, stay out of the crypto forum. Why waste your time? And if you hate it so much, just short the fuck out of it and come back to gloat when Bitcoin goes to zero. But most of the deniers are just closet wishers who wish they got in much sooner. @deaddog is one of these guys. He keeps crying over and over about how to value it, and no matter how much we tell him, he sticks to his "can't value it" song. But if you read most of his posts, you see he is just waiting for the trend to turn back up because this is his investing style. Arguing with him is annoying as fuck because its like dealing with a broken record, but you can see the reason he is here is because he doesn't want to be left out of what will revolutionize the world.
@Baron How about a yearend up date? Are you still as confident as you were when you started the journal after all that has transpired in 2022?
I too would love an update. For me personally, I'm just as confident on Bitcoin as ever, and I'm excited about the prospects of everyone taking their bitcoin off exchanges. What worries me is how much paper bitcoin there is still out there, and how major companies getting into crypto are only doing so via futures. After this entire blowup, I'm not confident about Solana at all, and would love to dump what I have, but sadly, my average price was $200 before I bought some more on the way down. I would love some sort of run back up and hope for a break even exit, but if it turns out to be a total loss, so be it. I never knew how closely SOL was tied to FTX, and just the whole idea of any coins have a huge VC allocation, like 30% easily for many coins means these things are only pumps and dumps. ETH also sounds like another dog now. I guess the chance here is for this one to rise again, but given how this move to PoS means its centralized as fuck and blocks are essentially censored, the entire point of crypto is lost. So I would love to dump all my ETH as well. My ETH is actually in an ETF, and I could perhaps switch it out to the BTC ETH since I think both are roughly down the same amount, but I'm betting on some of the altcoins running faster after the entire crypto sector gets a pump. Going forward, the only thing to own is bitcoin, but there of course might be new things that pop up which will do exceptionally well when this crypto winter is over. I will also take a stab at using bitcoin as a payment method simply to support the use case and network.
