https://www.newsweek.com/bitcoin-crash-el-salvador-faces-potential-default-crytocurrency-1706098 El Salvador Loses $38M in Bitcoin Crash, Faces Potential Default The price of Bitcoin when this article was published, was $28,404; today the price is $18,196, so 35% lower. The default comes closer and closer. The problem is compounded by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) looking to provide El Salvador with financing to help it repay a government bond due in January 2023. The bond is worth $800 million, and the country has other debt repayment obligations on top of that. Buying BTC has made the problem bigger resulting in a potential default. But they did better than Baron, as they lost "only" 37%.
What I would suggest is to lay off putting the boot in. You've already mentioned you are on ET and have no intention of contributing anything worthwhile. So why are you here? To boast about how you can make 1000%? I'd like to remind certain people that Baron runs ET as a business and all us plebs who post here are guest members, our contributions assist Baron but they also assist us. There's a saying, "dont look a gift horse in the mouth." Just like Johnarb whom I complained about repetively calling you a liar, now I'm complaining about virtusa repetitively attacking Baron for poor calls. We all make mistakes in life. Now move on. I'm sure for those genuine enough with their errors they learn from it and continue to grow. I give Baron lots of credit for a well run ET, sometimes imo moderation is a bit too slack, but its a difficult task keeping everyone pleased.
Agree. Virt, you could possibly have prefaced this last one with a quick acknowledgement of Barons early entry. There'll be lots more scare news to attach over the coming years but its good to find an excuse to give a (begrudging) pat on the back where possible.
What really annoys me is that Baron allows this sort of thing to happen in his journal. I cannot see what virtusa is saying, because he has me on block, AGAIN. But I am assuming he is claiming that Baron is a jerk for continuing to buy BTC in this downtrend. Meanwhile, this is YOUR journal, Baron. I would never let constant badgering go on in mine, so why do you let it go on in yours? You annoy me Baron, because the surf is up but you continue to let the ocean foam wash up upon your shore.
It works both ways. We've had posters here on ET call virtusa a jerk and NUMEROUS times a liar by johnarb, including within Baron's journal, so naturally people are going to get pissed off. Baron is very tolerant of posters and I think that tolerance has positives and negatives. But this johnarb bs should have been nipped in the bud long ago, so not surprised virtusa is retaliating toward Baron. Imo johnarb should have been warned very early on to stop his attacking of another ET poster, and if it continued then banned. Same with virtusa, warned to stop picking on Baron about his trading style, especially in his journal, banned if it continues!
Crypto is such a heated space. My go to argument was:don't criticise crypto and the investors, get short and prove us wrong instead.Virtusa made some good points disputing this which I can respect. Johnarb is obviously passionate about the space.Ive seen the posts you refer to,but I feel he has only retaliated, not instigated(I'm prepared to be wrong on this, but I'm pretty confident). That aside,he is an avid follower of crypto and I have learned a lot from his posts.Isn't that the point of the forums? I remember Lord Alan Sugar back in the day, stating unequivocally that digital music storage would never take off.People would always want their record and CD covers.MP3,ipods would never be a thing. This is from,IMO,one of the great minds and especially people managers that I have studied. Youre allowed to have an opinion and youre allowed to be wrong but if youre a dick about it then you can expect to never hear the end of it! hahaha If BTC goes to zero,I'll be back here with user name rettysurecryptoisaponziscampyramidwhoswithme hahaha
