I am really curious, do you really "wade through" so many posts? Maybe I don't focus enough on what I am reading, but it usually takes just a glance to determine if I want to read further. Over time, people learn who they want to read, who they don't want to read. They then choose to ignore a poster or continue reading others. If there are overposters you don't like, just put them on ignore. As far as scrolling being difficult, I recommend a scrolling mouse, they can scroll down a page quite quickly. Public forums will never be perfect or suit all people, but in its present format, the forum works as well or better than what I have seen elsewhere.
